A: The Colorado restaurants closed in 1996 when the local franchisee decided to pull the plug. I'm not sure of the reason, but it's highly likely that the bad publicity created by a fatal E.coli outbreak back in 1993 resulted in unsustainable financial losses. The "kangaroo meat" idea is ridiculous - apart from anything else, kangaroo meat is perfectly edible and is absolutely delicious (if you've never tried a kangaroo steak or burger, you don't know what you're missing). Jack in the Box has been opening new restaurants in Colorado since late 2007, and these are company-owned stores, not franchises.
