Q: Is it mandatory they wear gloves when preparing food? I saw a girl making burgers and she was putting the beef patties on the buns and then lettuce and tomato and cheese without wearing any gloves. I always thought they had to wear gloves. It seems unsanitary. Plus the patties are hot but she didn't seem to care about holding hot patties in her bare hands. Should I have complained?
A: They are not required to. I use to work for mcD's when i was younger and they didn't have gloves either but about every 15 min or so everyone was required to wash there hands or use the sanitizer. If the food is cooked to order which means it's not already made and then sit in a bin most germs will not last to long in the heat. Im sure they have the same policy of washing and sanitizing, so i wouldn't worry about germs, but it may be a good idea to call and ask them. Can't hurt :)
