Q: i just got a job at dennys and im wondering how much they pay hourly without tips. im also wondering how much i can expect when it comes to tips. ill be working afternoons on weekdays and most likely mornings on weekends thanks :]
A: The previous answer was accurate in some states but most states have a tip credit minimum wage as does the federal minimum wage law. The federal minimum wage for tipped workers is $2.13 an hour. Most states match this number and most restaurants, including Dennys, pay this amount to servers. Incidentally, after claiming tips (enforced) and having income tax deducted, most servers checks for two weeks amount to only a few dollars or often nothing.
